Outlook Express has many ‘Options’
These options like most other programs control program
appearance and function. Options are
used for all email accounts configured for use by Outlook Express. Most of these options are
self-explaining. Options can be changed
at any time.
If you can not open email
attachments, please read step #4
- To access the
‘Options’ page in Outlook Express, you first open Outlook Express by
clicking the ‘Start’ button and then ‘Programs’ and finally ‘Outlook
Express’
- After you have opened
Outlook Express left click ‘options’ located on the top of Outlook
Express’ window
- Carefully look at all
the settings, change any setting that you wish.

- The option that
causes most email attachment problems is located under the ‘Security’
tab. On the ‘Security’ window there
are checkboxes related to Virus Protection. If the box ‘Do not allow attachment to
be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus’, then most
attachments will not open. To be
able to open all attachment types just un-check the box. (See Fig.2)
